Con fi guration In the normal arrangement, the stubs are separated by a distance of L = 3λ/8 as shown
in Figure 3.12, but other separations are possible, with appropriate variations to the
procedure described below.
In Figure 3.12 we see that the load admittance YL and a stub known as S2 are both
connected to the right hand end of a length 3λ/8 of line. At the left hand end of that line
an additional stub known as S1 is connected in parallel. To the left of that junction the
line is supposed to be matched, that is waves travelling rightward in that leftmost section
of the line experience no reflection when they encounter the junction just to the right of
the reference plane D.
